Football Preview: Greenway Demons vs. Peoria Panthers
Greenway has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will head out to take on the Peoria Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Greenway finally turned things around against Glendale on Friday. Everything went their way against the Cardinals as they made off with a 28-7 victory.
Tyler Mcnally had a dynamite game for Greenway, throwing for 245 yards and four touchdowns on only 19 passes, while also rushing for 34 yards. That's the most rushing yards Mcnally has posted since back in October of 2023. Christian Shetler was Mcnally's top target, picking up 105 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Peoria). They blew past Youngker 36-14 two weeks ago. The win was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Among those leading the charge was Cristian Carrillo, who rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Dontay Tyson Jr was in the mix too, providing Peoria with two touchdowns.
Greenway's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Peoria, their win bumped their record up to an identical 2-4.
