St. Charles North had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt St. Charles East on Wednesday. The North Stars never let the Fighting Saints get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. Considering the North Stars have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Paige Murray made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Jordyn McBride was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
St. Charles North pushed their record up to 19-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for St. Charles East, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-14.
