Softball Recap: Greenleaf Friends Academy Comes Up Short

Greenleaf Friends Academy had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 2-6 to make it four. They fell just short of the Horseshoe Bend Mustangs by a score of 19-18. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (ten), the Grizzlies still had to take the loss.

As for Horseshoe Bend, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.5 runs over those games.

For Horseshoe Bend's part, Aubree Zimmer was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases, five runs, and two triples. Those triples were Zimmer's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Harper Kennedy, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three RBI.

Greenleaf Friends Academy has already played their next contest, a 20-18 loss against Idaho City on the 21st. As for Horseshoe Bend, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 23-16 defeat against Garden Valley on the 21st.
