Softball Recap: Ridgewood Comes Up Short

Ridgewood dropped down to 14-11 on Monday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Paramus Catholic Knght Paladins, falling 12-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Maroons of the 4-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

As for Paramus Catholic, their record is now 16-5-1. The result was nothing new for the Knght Paladins, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For Paramus Catholic's part, Brinley Sullivan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. Sullivan has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Paramus Catholic got a massive performance out of Jami West, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-4. Those two home runs gave West a new career-high. Another player making a difference was McKenna Henderson, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Ridgewood will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Glen Rock at 4:15 p.m. As for Paramus Catholic, they will venture away from home to challenge Livingston at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lancers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.58 runs per game on average), something the Knght Paladins will no doubt try to take advantage of.
