Baseball Game Preview: Wall Hawks vs. Abilene Eagles

The Wall Hawks will square off against the Abilene Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Wall will be looking to extend their current 18-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Wall got the win against Clyde by a conclusive 15-1. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 contests by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Kellan Oliver, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Braden, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Wall was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .538. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in seven consecutive games.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three matchup, Abilene brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over Monterey on Tuesday. Considering the Eagles' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Abilene's victory bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Wall, their win bumped their record up to 22-8.
