Volleyball Recap: Custer Starts off Right with Win over Philip

Custer had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Philip Scotties on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-8, 25-17.

Despite the loss, Philip still got an impressive performance from Taylor O'Connell, who had 15 digs.

Philip's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Custer didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Lead-Deadwood on the 30th. As for Philip, they are taking a road trip to square off against Kadoka at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
