On Tuesday, the Lone Star Rangers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Turner Lions. Given the Rangers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Lions are ranked 263rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lone Star's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Turner, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lone Star will host Wakeland at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Wakeland will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Lone Star surely won't give up without a fight. We've got a battle between Lions coming up.
