Preview: Twinfield Trojans vs. Vergennes Commodores
Twinfield has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Vergennes Commodores at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Twinfield knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Vergennes likes a good challenge.
Twinfield pushed their score all the way to 60 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Oxbow by a score of 62-60.
Meanwhile, Vergennes faced Williamstown in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Vergennes took a 60-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Williamstown. Vergennes' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Twinfield's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Vergennes, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-1.
Twinfield was taken down by Vergennes 76-49 in their previous matchup back in January. Can Twinfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
