Baseball Game Preview: Wesleyan Christian Academy Trojans vs. Charlotte Christian Knights

The Wesleyan Christian Academy Trojans will face off against the Charlotte Christian Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wesleyan Christian Academy has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight defeats, while Charlotte Christian will come in with five straight victories.

Wesleyan Christian Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Reagan by a score of 9-8 on Monday. That's two games in a row now that the Trojans have lost by just one run.

Thompson Holloway and Elijah Martin stepped up to the plate in a big way. Holloway scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Martin scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave Holloway a new career-high. Tobias Waldridge also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Charlotte Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Weddington on Tuesday, taking the game 11-6.

Owen Farrell was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Derek Vazquez, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Charlotte Christian's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Wesleyan Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Everything went Wesleyan Christian Academy's way against Charlotte Christian in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Wesleyan Christian Academy made off with a 14-4 win.
