Basketball Game Preview: Clovis Cougars vs. Clovis East Timberwolves

Clovis hasn't had much luck against Clovis East recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Clovis Cougars will head out to face off against the Clovis East Timberwolves at 5:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Clovis is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 88-63 to Clovis North. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 374th, while the Broncos are ranked 17th).

Meanwhile, Clovis East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Clovis West, falling 66-41. The game marked the Timberwolves' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Clovis East's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-6. As for Clovis, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.

Clovis was dealt a bruising 65-31 defeat at the hands of Clovis East when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Clovis avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
