Recap: Decatur Community Red Devils vs. Oakley Plainsmen
The Decatur Community Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell 58-48 to Oakley. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Decatur Community in their matchups with Oakley: they've now lost eight in a row.
Decatur Community's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Ostmeyer, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. The match was Ostmeyer's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Davin Jensen, who scored eight points along with six steals.
Even though they lost, Decatur Community were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Decatur Community's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Oakley, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-6.
Decatur Community will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Northern Valley at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
