Basketball Recap: Superior Takes a Loss

Superior was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They lost 56-33 to the Sandy Creek Cougars. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-20 back in January.

Despite the loss, Superior still got an impressive performance from Mason Korb, who posted eight points.

It was another big night for Ethan Shaw, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds for Sandy Creek. Those 11 boards gave Shaw a new career-high. Sam Watts also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Superior's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Sandy Creek, they pushed their record up to 11-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Superior is taking a road trip to challenge Smith Center at 7:30 p.m. on February 10th. As for Sandy Creek, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-52 defeat against Fillmore Central on the 4th.
