Baseball Recap: Ogden Takes a Loss

Ogden and Manti squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Ogden had to settle for second. They came up short against the Templars, falling 10-3. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Templars earlier this season, when they won 10-4.

Easton Green made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Ogden's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 6-19 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Rodrigo Torres, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Ogden's defeat dropped their record down to 8-20. As for Manti, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season.

Ogden does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Manti, they will take on Canyon View at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Templars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
