Baseball Recap: New Diana Snags 14th Victory in Last 18 Games

New Diana proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by eight) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Tatum. This was a revenge game for New Diana: when they faced off against Tatum back in March, they had to take a 6-5 loss.

Mason Sherman was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last nine games he's played. Ayden Hamilton was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

New Diana is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 18 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Tatum, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-7.

Looking ahead, New Diana will venture away from home to face off against Pleasant Grove at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Tatum, they will host Bullard at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
