Basketball Recap: Mildred Comes Up Short

Mildred was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 61-42 fall against the Hawkins Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 914th, while the Hawks are ranked 130th).

When it comes to explaining why Mildred lost, don't look at Brennan Moore. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 16 on his way to 16 points in addition to seven boards and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Pj Neason, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Mildred's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Hawkins, their win bumped their record up to 12-1.

Mildred didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-58 victory against Big Sandy on the 14th. As for Hawkins, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 47-32 loss against Canton on the 13th.
