Basketball Recap: King Takes a Loss

If King was feeling good fresh off their 44-10 takedown of Spoto last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The King Lions lost to the Lennard Longhorns on the road by a 47-30 margin on Tuesday. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Longhorns apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.

When it comes to explaining why King lost, don't look at Heaven Pyfrom. Despite the final result, she posted 22 points. Those 22 points gave Pyfrom a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariah Pinkney, who had six points and seven rebounds.

King's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Lennard, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-10.

King didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-35 loss against Plant City on the 22nd. Lennard has also already played their next contest, a 45-15 defeat against Gaither on the 22nd.
