Murphysboro barely beat Herrin the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Red Devils put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 11-3 win on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.

Murphysboro got a great performance from Nathan Evans as he pitched six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gage Taylor, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Bryce Edwards, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

Murphysboro was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Murphysboro's win bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Herrin, they dropped their record down to 8-13 with the loss, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season.
