Baseball Game Preview: Rootstown Rovers vs. Waterloo Vikings

The Rootstown Rovers will head out to square off against the Waterloo Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rootstown will be strutting in after a win while Waterloo will be coming in after a loss.

Rootstown came out on top against Rhodes on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run fifth inning. The Rovers put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 15-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rovers, who have now won nine games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Waterloo came up short against Rootstown on Monday, falling 8-1. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The win made it two in a row for Rootstown and bumps their season record up to 15-9. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Waterloo, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.

Everything went Rootstown's way against Waterloo when the teams last played on Monday, as Rootstown made off with an 8-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rovers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
