Softball Game Preview: SA S Saints vs. Sacred Heart Indians

The SA S Saints will head out to face off against the Sacred Heart Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Sacred Heart will be up against a hot SA S squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Saints put the hurt on Leakey with a sharp 12-4 win back in March.

The team relied heavily on Reagan Mullaley, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Evie Hanson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Mullaley wasn't the only one making solid contact: SA S kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Sacred Heart won against St. Paul on Tuesday with 18 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Indians blew past Lutheran 18-2. The victory was nothing new for the Indians as they're now sitting on five straight.

Sacred Heart pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for SA S, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

SA S took their victory against Sacred Heart when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saints since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
