Baseball Game Preview: Peotone Blue Devils vs. Lisle Lions

For the second straight game, Peotone will face off against Lisle. The Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Peotone is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Lisle by a score of 12-9 on Monday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Blue Devils as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Tyler Leitelt was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Leitelt was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other pitching news, Lincoln Tierney looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, Ruben Velasco was incredible, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Hasse, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Peotone was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Peotone's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-9. As for Lisle, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10-1.
