League recap: Kennedy climbs in state rankings

Kennedy scaled the state rankings by moving to 497 from 543 this week, the biggest jump in Section 6 C - North. The Bears climbed the ranks as a result of besting Wilson 30-6.

Cleveland Hill extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Lackawanna, 24-8. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Eagles.

Kevin Daunce was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Lakemen lost to Kennedy. The 6-foot-3 senior.

Timothy Walch put up the best numbers in passing as Wilson lost to Mark Ostempowski's team. He finished with 10 completions for 168 yards. Walch's favorite target this week was Daunce, who caught 6 passes for 144 yards.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, William Atlas' team's Walch and Daunce have proven to be a lethal combination. Walch has thrown for 567 yards this season, while Daunce, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 19 catches for 412 yards. Cleveland Hill's Brandon Thomas leads the league in rushing yards with 536.

An important game coming up in Section 6 C - North this week will be when Glen Graham's team takes on Newfane. The Eagles are currently in first, while the Panthers are in fifth.

The league will see a high scoring game when Cleveland Hill and Newfane face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Eagles comes in having scored 100 this season, while Alex Haney's team has scored 59. Cleveland Hill scored 24 points last week as it bested the Steelers.

The Panthers lost to Albion 49-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Josh Kneeland was a bright spot for Newfane, as he threw for 79 yards and caught 3 passes for 44 yards in the defeat.
