Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Thornton). They claimed a resounding 63-31 victory over the Thornridge Falcons. The Wildcats pushed the score to 55-22 by the end of the third, a deficit the Falcons cut but never quite recovered from.

Thornton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jeremy Blanco-Rios led the charge by putting up eight points in addition to six boards and five steals. The dominant performance gave Blanco-Rios a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Malik Holton, who went 5 for 10 en route to 12 points.

Thornton was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Thornton's win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Thornridge, they dropped their record down to 4-15 with the loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Thornton has already played their next contest (against Payton College Prep), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Thornridge and Corliss will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Corliss has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
