Orosi is 9-1 against Summit Charter Collegiate Academy since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cardinals are taking a road trip to take on the Bears at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Orosi barely beat Wonderful College Prep Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cardinals' pitcher stepped up to hand the Wolves a 12-0 shutout on Tuesday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 2, 2023, but that streak is no more.
Micheal Lopez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Christopher Lopez was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Melchor, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Orosi was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wonderful College Prep Academy only posted a batting average of .118.
Meanwhile, Summit Charter Collegiate Academy and Granite Hills faced off in a Battle of the Bears on Tuesday. The Bears skirted past the Grizzlies 4-2. The game was the first time the Bears have beaten the Grizzlies on their field since February 26, 2019.
Valentin Sierra was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Mason Maddox also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Orosi's record now sits at 10-11-1. As for Summit Charter Collegiate Academy, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9-1.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Orosi has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .474. However, it's not like Summit Charter Collegiate Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .454. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Orosi took their victory against Summit Charter Collegiate Academy when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
