Southwest entered their tilt with Cambridge on Friday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cambridge Trojans 56-19. The Roughriders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 24 points or more this season.

Southwest was led to victory by Kyra Nelms and Aspen Billeter. Nelms dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Billeter went 6 of 13 on her way to 16 points and eight steals. The dominant performance also gave Nelms a new career-high in assists (seven). Another player making a difference was Allison Vanpelt, who posted seven points and four steals.

Southwest smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 13 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Cambridge's loss came despite strong showings from Elisabeth Kubik and Aspen Webb. Kubik had five points, while Webb put up no points.

Southwest's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points per game. As for Cambridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Southwest didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-39 win against Wauneta-Palisade on the 11th. As for Cambridge, they will square off against Medicine Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cambridge is facing Medicine Valley at the right time seeing as Medicine Valley is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
