Basketball Recap: Blue Valley Southwest Extends Winning Streak to Three

Blue Valley Southwest extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Lily Unruh. The Blue Valley Southwest Timberwolves snuck past the Fort Scott Tigers with a 55-49 win on Saturday thanks in part to Unruh, who went 9 of 17 en route to 22 points and three steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in January of 2024.

Blue Valley Southwest's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Fort Scott, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-2-1.

Blue Valley Southwest will be taking part in a tournament against Nemaha Central at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Nemaha Central will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Blue Valley Southwest surely won't give up without a fight. As for Fort Scott, they are taking a road trip to square off against Girard on Tuesday. Fort Scott's defense has only allowed 29.6 points per game this season, so Girard's offense will have their work cut out for them.
