Softball Recap: Brazos Comes Up Short

Brazos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Flatonia Bulldogs, falling 16-7. While the Cougars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 7-1 in the first period.

Kendall Macha made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-1. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Margaret Richardson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Brazos' loss dropped their record down to 3-10-1. As for Flatonia, the victory got them back to even at 3-3-1.

Brazos has already played their next game, a 17-0 defeat against Sacred Heart on the 8th. As for Flatonia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 4-1 win against Luling on the 8th.
