Basketball Recap: Northumberland Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

Northumberland extended their postseason success on Wednesday against Mathews. They walked away with a 68-55 win over the Mathews Blue Devils. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Tyreek Lundy continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 31 points and 11 rebounds. Lundy is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. JD Barber was another key player, putting up 15 points and five boards.

Northumberland was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They are a perfect 14-0 when they've passed the ball that well.

Northumberland's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-3. As for Mathews, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 16-9 record.

Coming up, Northumberland will face off against Lancaster at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Northumberland knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Lancaster likes a good challenge. Mathews does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
