Football Game Preview: Sylva Bay Academy Saints vs. Hillcrest Christian Cougars

The Sylva Bay Academy Saints will head out on the road to take on the Hillcrest Christian Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sylva Bay Academy has given up an average of 29.3 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Sylva Bay Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Mississippi's top teams: Russell Christian Academy, who was ranked fifth at the time (Sylva Bay Academy was ranked eighth). The Saints came up short against the Warriors on Friday, falling 49-26. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sylva Bay Academy might have lost, but man, Micah Odom was a machine: he rushed for 159 yards and two TDs while picking up 8.8 yards per carry.

Meanwhile, Hillcrest Christian unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 24-0 to DeSoto back in August.

Sylva Bay Academy now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Hillcrest Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
