Baseball Recap: Glen Burnie Takes a Loss

After flying high against Overlea on Saturday, Glen Burnie came back down to earth. The Gophers fell just short of the Winters Mill Falcons by a score of 7-5 on Saturday. The Gophers haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Jordan Dailey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Glen Burnie: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-8 otherwise.

Glen Burnie's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Winters Mill, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.

Looking ahead, Glen Burnie will head out to square off against Meade at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Winters Mill, they will square off against City College at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Black Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
