Ludlow and Amherst-Pelham Regional are an even 4-4 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Lions will take on the Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Ludlow fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Ware on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 2-1. The Lions have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Amherst-Pelham Regional was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against Easthampton/Hampshire, falling 17-6.

Amherst-Pelham Regional saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nate Ziomek, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that Ziomek has hit this season.

Ludlow's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Amherst-Pelham Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.

Ludlow beat Amherst-Pelham Regional 7-2 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
