Baseball Recap: Gilbert's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gilbert). They blew past the Marcos de Niza Padres 10-3 on Thursday. The Tigers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 14, 2024.

Carter Lolling looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Grant Goodman was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Roman, who scored four runs and stole Two bases.

The victory snapped Gilbert's losing streak at nine games and leaves them with a 2-9 record. As for Marcos de Niza, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gilbert will take on Mountain Pointe at 11:00 a.m. on March 22nd. As for Marcos de Niza, they will face off against South Mountain at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
