Basketball Recap: Make It Eight in a Row for Tabiona

A well-balanced attack led Tabiona over Altamont in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Everything went the Tabiona Tigers' way against the Altamont Longhorns as the Tabiona Tigers made off with a 46-22 win. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Longhorns are ranked 117th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tabiona's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Peyton Pippy, who posted seven points and three steals. Pippy has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Maycee Rhoades was another key player, putting up 13 points and six steals.

The win (which was Tabiona's eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Altamont, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tabiona will host Tintic at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Altamont, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Manila at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
