Softball Game Preview: Scott City Rams vs. Valle Catholic Warriors

The Scott City Rams will head out to challenge the Valle Catholic Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Scott City has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 12.

Things were looking good for Scott City after they put the first run on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 14-3 to South Pemiscot.

Skylar Watson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Ava Huckstep was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Valle Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Oak Ridge, falling 7-1.

Valle Catholic now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Scott City, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-16.

Everything went Scott City's way against Valle Catholic in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Scott City made off with a 15-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
