Volleyball Recap: Goodpasture Christian Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Goodpasture Christian entered their tilt with Friendship Christian on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Commanders by a score of 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in August.

Goodpasture Christian had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 27-25, 25-10, 25-23.

Friendship Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brittlee Montgomery, who had 17 kills and five digs. Montgomery has been hot recently, having posted six or more kills the last three times she's played. Kyla Scharfman was another key player, getting 11 digs and two assists.

Goodpasture Christian's victory bumped their record up to 22-9. As for Friendship Christian, their loss ended a 14-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Goodpasture Christian will host Providence Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Friendship Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Middle Tennessee Christian at 5:30 p.m.
