Softball Recap: Fort Wayne Snider Victorious

While Fort Wayne Snider's victory against Fort Wayne North Side wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Legends 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Legends: they've now won five in a row.

Makayla Stone spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up 17 Ks. Those 17 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ameera Kummer, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played.

Fort Wayne Snider's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-4. As for Fort Wayne North Side, they dropped their record down to 2-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Fort Wayne Snider will head out to face off against Carroll at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
