Recap: Southwest DeKalb Panthers vs. Stephenson Jaguars

The Southwest DeKalb Panthers were the 47-32 winner over the Stephenson Jaguars when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Southwest DeKalb fell just short of Stephenson by a score of 53-51.

When it comes to explaining why Southwest DeKalb lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Sam Turner. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Turner is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Glanton, III, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Southwest DeKalb has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season. As for Stephenson, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-16 record this season.

Southwest DeKalb will be playing in front of their home fans against Holy Innocents Episcopal at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Holy Innocents Episcopal knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 matchups -- so hopefully Southwest DeKalb likes a good challenge. As for Stephenson, they will head out on the road to challenge Miller Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
