Baseball Game Preview: Christopher Cougars vs. Branham Bruins

For the second straight game, Christopher will face off against Branham. The Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Bruins at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Christopher's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Branham's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Christopher blew Branham out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Branham got their revenge. The Cougars fell just short of the Bruins by a score of 3-1. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Cougars couldn't push the score so high this time.

Matthew Anderson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Christopher saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Guenther, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Branham has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Christopher, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
