Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only New Canaan walked away with it. They claimed a resounding 42-7 victory over the Darien Blue Wave. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won nine matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.

Andrew Esposito continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 26 yards and four touchdowns. Bennett Heagle did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 100 receiving yards.

New Canaan didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Luke Gencarelli and Esposito. Mikey Hiraman was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making six total tackles.

New Canaan pushed their record up to 11-0 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.8 points over those games. As for Darien, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.

Looking ahead, New Canaan will host Weaver at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Darien does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
