Baseball Game Preview: Buffalo Grove Bison vs. Hersey Huskies

For the second straight game, Buffalo Grove will face off against Hersey. The Bison will be playing at home against the Huskies at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Buffalo Grove is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

On Monday, Buffalo Grove came up short against Hersey and fell 4-1.

For Hersey's part, Lincoln Causero tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave Causero a new career-high.

At the plate, Chuck Meister was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Keegan Luxem was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Hersey was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Buffalo Grove only posted a batting average of .087.

Hersey's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Buffalo Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 6-18-2.
