Football Recap: Perquimans' Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Perquimans fell victim to Pasquotank County and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 19-0 bruising from the Panthers. The loss put an end to the Pirates' undefeated start to the season.

Benjamin Brown threw for 120 yards on ten of 16 attempts. Dendrae Riddick was his top target, picking up 55 receiving yards.

Pasquotank County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyrell Williams out in front who picked up 38 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 56 yards. Those 38 receiving yards gave Williams a new career-high. Another rusher making a difference was Jayon Harris, who rushed for 83 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries.

Having lost for the first time this season, Perquimans fell to 2-1. As for Pasquotank County, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Perquimans will welcome Northside - Pinetown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pasquotank County, they will head out to face off against Roanoke Rapids at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
