Midland Legacy is a perfect 9-0 against Odessa since October of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Rebels will welcome the Bronchos at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Friday, Midland Legacy was able to grind out a solid win over Midland, taking the game 33-21. The victory continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won nine in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Midland Legacy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hayes Hamm, who rushed for 104 yards and one TD. The Rebels are 4-1 when Hamm posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 0-4 otherwise. Nic Moore got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed 19 in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Moore, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a punt return touchdown from Ja'Braylen Anders.
Midland Legacy's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Jason Williams, Jack Perez, and David Ihediwa, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Meanwhile, Odessa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 35-32 heartbreaker at the hands of San Angelo Central. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 30, 2020, but that streak is no more.
Midland Legacy's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Odessa, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
Everything came up roses for Midland Legacy against Odessa in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 75-22 victory. In that game, the Rebels amassed a halftime lead of 54-22, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
