Football Recap: Barbe Buccaneers vs. Acadiana Rams
Barbe extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-5. They fell 49-42 to the Acadiana Rams. The Buccaneers gained 68 more yards on the day, but it was the Rams that made the best use of them.
When it comes to explaining why Barbe lost, don't look at Jelandon Gray. Despite the final result, he rushed for 153 yards and one score on only 14 carries, and also threw for 196 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 18 passes. Gray's longest rush was for an incredible 81 yards. Another player making a difference was Landon Kirklin, who rushed for 87 yards and two TDs.
As for Acadiana, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.0 points on average over those games.
A big part of Acadiana's victory came down to the chemistry between Collin Dibetta and his top target Travis Gallien. Dibetta picked up 48 receiving yards and one score while Gallien picked up 96 receiving yards and one touchdown.
