Basketball Recap: Goodrich Takes a Loss

Goodrich was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 37th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Burkeville Mustangs 64-30. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in January.

Several Hornets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joshua James, who posted 11 points. Those 11 points gave James a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zatavius Bowens, who put up six points.

Goodrich's defeat dropped their record down to 0-23. As for Burkeville, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-15.

Goodrich will venture away from home to challenge Leggett at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Goodrich is facing Leggett at the right time seeing as Leggett is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Burkeville, they will challenge Chester at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Burkeville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
