The Lodi Flames will square off against the Enochs Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Lodi 1.8, Enochs 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Lodi gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Downey by a score of 6-1. The Flames haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Andrew Fichtner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single hit, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Chase Whiting was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Noah Hufford was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two RBI.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Enochs ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over Merced.
Parker Johnson tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Davian Garcia and Caden Reeve did most of the damage at the plate: Garcia scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Reeve went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.
Lodi's win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Enochs, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Lodi came up short against Enochs in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 5-1. Can Lodi avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
