The Camp Point Central Panthers came tearing into Saturday's matchup with three straight wins dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Astoria/VIT 59-36. That's another feather in the cap for Camp Point Central, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Astoria/VIT's loss came despite strong showings from TOMMI GORSUCH and HANNAH HORWEDEL. GORSUCH scored nine points along with four steals, while HORWEDEL scored nine points along with seven rebounds. KATE STAMBAUGH was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

Camp Point Central's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Astoria/VIT, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
