Softball Game Preview: Lindale Eagles vs. Brownsboro Bears

The Lindale Eagles will face off against the Brownsboro Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Lindale is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

Lindale's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 15-0 margin over Kemp. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Kenlee Keith made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (zero). She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Lindale let Emma Watkins and Makynli Zemer run wild. Watkins got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Zemer scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Zemer a new career-high in stolen bases. Zaidyn Chamberlain was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Lindale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .562. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Brownsboro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Canton, falling 11-0.

Lindale's win bumped their record up to 9-5-1. As for Brownsboro, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6-2.

Lindale came out on top in a nail-biter against Brownsboro in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 10-9. Will Lindale repeat their success, or does Brownsboro have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
