Baseball Recap: Northpoint Christian Academy Makes It 15 in a Row at Home

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only NorthPoint Christian Academy walked away with it. They never let the Mountain View Christian Academy Mustangs get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the NightHawks, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Max Porter was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Micah Enriquez, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of NorthPoint Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 6-7 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Powell Maslin, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

NorthPoint Christian Academy pushed their record up to 11-7 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Mountain View Christian Academy, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-9.

As of now, neither NorthPoint Christian Academy nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
