Baseball Recap: Wade Hampton Takes a Loss

Wade Hampton fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Riverside on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 4-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 last Wednesday.

Chandler Steffof made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that he hit this season. Another player making a difference was Parker McCrory, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Wade Hampton has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Riverside, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.

While Wade Hampton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
