Baseball Recap: Carbondale Area Gets the Win

Carbondale Area's game two weeks ago was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Forest City Foresters. That's more bragging rights for the Chargers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Parker Smith made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Smith was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season.

In other batting news, Xander Keill was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three RBI. Those RBI marked the first that he brought in this season. Xander Mackey was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Carbondale Area's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Forest City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Coincidentally, Carbondale Area and Forest City will both be playing Mountain View the next time they take the field. The Chargers will head out to face the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Foresters will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
