Volleyball Recap: Pilgrim Patriots vs. Cumberland Clippers

After flying high against Toll Gate last Friday, Pilgrim came back down to earth. The Pilgrim Patriots came up short against the Cumberland Clippers on Monday, falling 3-0. The Patriots haven't had much luck with the Clippers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-12, 25-8.

Cumberland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lyla Parmentier, who had four aces and three digs. That's the most aces Parmentier has posted in her last seven matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Pires, who had ten digs and four aces.

Pilgrim's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Cumberland, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-8.

Pilgrim will head out to square off against Barrington at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Barrington will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Pilgrim surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cumberland, they will take on Classical at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
